Solicitor Emma Rowles, Principal of Winter Legal, has added two more awards to her growing list of accolades the 2025 APAC Insider Legal Award for Wills & Estates Lawyer of the Year (NSW) and the 2025 ALIBI Earth Keeper Award.
It’s been a standout year for Emma, who was also recognised as a finalist in several prestigious awards, including the Local Business Awards, Gender Equity Awards, Business NSW Awards, Australian Small Business Champion Awards, and the Business Excellence Awards.
Since winning her first Hawkesbury Local Business Award in 2020, Emma has been a familiar name among finalists and winners across the state, steadily building a reputation for excellence, compassion, and community-minded leadership.
From Pitt Town to Sydney CBD
Emma’s legal journey began right here in the Hawkesbury, where she first opened her practice in Pitt Town before moving to Richmond and later expanding to Sydney’s CBD and Newcastle. Despite her growth, her connection to the region remains strong — many of her clients are still based in the Hills and Hawkesbury, where she grew up.
Winter Legal specialises exclusively in Estate Administration (Probate) and Estate Litigation, and Emma credits her success to a simple formula:
“Dedication to client satisfaction. I’m directly contactable, flexible with meetings, offer free consultations, don’t require funds upfront, and provide No Win No Fee options. I have over 75 five-star Google reviews and a 100% success rate in litigation.”
Emma’s commitment goes beyond the courtroom. A passionate advocate for the environment, she ensures that Winter Legal operates with sustainability at its core always prioritising the three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
Her environmental focus was recognised with the ALIBI Earth Keeper Award, part of the Australian Ladies in Business Initiative, which celebrates women making a difference in both business and community life.
“Business awards encourage you to keep growing and bettering your business,” Emma said. “Some, like the ALIBI Awards, even have supportive networks that bring women in business together.”
Doing What You Love
With her characteristic positivity, Emma sums up her philosophy simply:
“I love what I do. I think when you love what you do, you become very good at it. One of my favourite quotes is, ‘Do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life.’Outside of work, Emma continues to advocate for sustainable living and recycling initiatives, guided by another of her favourite quotes: “The one who plants trees, knowing that he or she will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life.”
From Pitt Town roots to international recognition, 'Emma Rowles’ journey is a reminder that Hawkesbury people can be inspiring and that success built on passion, purpose, and community values can truly take you to places you never dreamed of going.
