Women from across the Hawkesbury will come together next week to celebrate International Women’s Day at a special community event hosted by Hawkesbury Women in Business.
The event will be held on Wednesday, March 12 at Lakehouse, bringing together women from across the region for an evening focused on connection, leadership and support for women in business and the broader community.
Founder Sarah Cassim said the gathering aims to recognise the contribution women make to local communities while creating space for meaningful conversation and professional support.
“International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the women around us who are building businesses, raising families, leading organisations and contributing to the strength of our community,” Ms Cassim said.
“This event is about connection and encouragement. When women support each other, incredible things happen.”
Attendees will hear from a panel of guest speakers and take part in a range of activities during the evening, including a sound bath and board breaking demonstration. The event will also provide opportunities for local women to connect with each other while learning about resources available to help them grow their businesses and navigate challenges.
Representatives from Service NSW will attend to provide information about government business support programs available to local entrepreneurs.
Ms Cassim said including practical support at the event was important for women who may be growing a business, starting a new venture or simply looking to connect with others in the region.
“We know running a business can feel isolating at times. Events like this remind people they are not doing it alone,” she said.
International Women’s Day is celebrated globally each year, recognising the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
The Hawkesbury event aims to bring that spirit to a local level, highlighting the strength and collaboration within the region’s business community.
