Community calls for more as Gazette fly off the shelves

Table of Contents

The Gazette team extends a heartfelt thank you to our local newsagents across the Hawkesbury and other distribution venues, who have been ringing with requests for more copies of the Gazette to meet community demand.

We sincerely apologise – we’ve been overwhelmed (in the best possible way) by the incredible response to our latest editions. The flood of positive comments from residents has been both humbling and energising, a reminder of why we do what we do.

In its heyday the Hawkesbury Gazette printed 5,000 copies. Our publisher thought we were being ambitious printing 3,000 copies and your demand have proved them wrong.

The Hawkesbury has always been a place where community spirit runs deep, and it’s clear that people still value the role of a truly local newspaper. As one of the Gazette’s past slogans proudly declared “Life is Local” a phrase still visible on the awning of North Richmond Newsagency. That message rings truer than ever today.

From all of us at the Gazette thank you for reading, thank you for sharing, and thank you for reminding us that local stories matter. Together, we are proving that community news is alive and thriving in the Hawkesbury and we will print more copies of future editions.
