Table of Contents

Kurrajong-Bilpin Little Athletics Centre athletes delivered a standout performance at the 2025 State Relays, showcasing determination, teamwork, and resilience against some of the strongest clubs in New South Wales.

With the recent merger of ANSW and LAANSW significantly increasing competition numbers, the small Hawkesbury-based club faced fields packed with powerhouse teams some able to enter multiple squads per event. Despite limited numbers and minimal preparation time, Kurrajong-Bilpin relay teams once again proved they could compete on the state stage.

Club representatives praised the effort and sportsmanship shown throughout the event, noting that in some cases athletes had only trained together once before lining up on the track.

A highlight of the championships came from the 11 Girls Throws Team, who secured a bronze medal in a field of 28 teams. The medal-winning effort featured Lucy Dixon (discus – 21.62m), Chanelle Vella (shot put – 8.02m), and Laura Head (javelin – 13.22m), with each athlete delivering under pressure.

Strong performances were recorded across all age groups, including a silver medal for the 12s Mixed 4×100m relay team, who finished second overall in a time of 57.56 seconds. The team included Georgia Leeson, Isaac Jones, Chelsea Pearson, and Connor Farrugia, with Farrugia producing a powerful final leg to secure the podium finish.

From the youngest competitors to experienced age-group athletes, Kurrajong-Bilpin Little Athletics Centre once again showed that heart, grit, and community support can rival even the biggest clubs in the state.
