Motorists travelling through Penrith are being urged to plan ahead, with a series of night-time road closures scheduled for early December as part of ongoing work along Mulgoa Road.

Transport for NSW will close both the eastbound and westbound exit ramps from the M4 to Mulgoa Road between 8pm and 5am on 1 and 2 December. Drivers heading to Penrith are advised to detour via The Northern Road or Russell Street during these hours.

Further disruptions are planned the following week. The right-hand turn lanes from northbound Mulgoa Road onto the M4 eastbound entry ramp will be closed from 8pm to 5am on 8 and 9 December. Motorists wanting to join the M4 eastbound will need to detour via the M4 westbound entry ramp, then use Russell Street to loop back eastbound.

In addition to ramp closures, Transport for NSW has advised that night work along Mulgoa Road will require intermittent lane and road closures throughout this period. Drivers are reminded to observe reduced speed limits, follow the directions of traffic controllers and signage, and allow extra travel time.

Traffic control teams will be on site to guide both motorists and pedestrians safely through the work zones when required.

A Transport for NSW spokesperson thanked the community for their patience.
