Motorists travelling along Bells Line of Road at Kurrajong Heights are being advised to plan ahead, with changed traffic conditions set to take effect as part of upcoming road safety works.
Transport authorities will carry out night works on Bells Line of Road between a point 220 metres east of Stone Terrace and 100 metres north of Bellbird Avenue. The project involves removing the existing road surface and installing high-friction asphalt to improve vehicle traction and enhance safety along this stretch of road.
Work is scheduled to take place over up to 15 night shifts from Tuesday, January 27 to Friday, February 20, 2026, weather permitting. Construction will occur between 8pm and 5am, Sunday to Thursday. No work will be undertaken on Friday or Saturday nights.
During construction, motorists can expect temporary traffic changes, including lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h. Drivers are urged to allow extra travel time, follow the directions of traffic controllers, and drive to the prevailing conditions.
Authorities have thanked the community for their patience while the safety upgrades are completed.
