Motorists travelling through Llandilo over the coming weeks are being urged to plan ahead, with site investigation works set to change traffic conditions at the busy intersection of The Northern Road and Spinks Road.
Transport authorities have confirmed that a series of geotechnical investigations and utility mapping will take place at the intersection as part of early planning for potential future safety upgrades. The information gathered will help determine what improvements may be needed at the location, which is frequently used by local residents and commuters.
The work is scheduled across up to seven night shifts between Monday 8 December and Thursday 18 December 2025, weather permitting. Crews will operate from 8pm to 5am, Sunday to Thursday, ensuring minimal disruption during daytime peak periods. No work will take place on Friday or Saturday nights.
Drivers should expect temporary lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h throughout the work zone. Traffic controllers will be on site to assist motorists where required.
Authorities are reminding road users to follow all signs, adhere to reduced speeds and take extra care when passing through the area at night.
“We appreciate the community’s patience while these important investigations take place,” a spokesperson said. “The work will help inform future improvements to safety and traffic flow at this key intersection.”
