Road users in Pitt Town are being advised to expect temporary traffic changes throughout December as work continues on the Pitt Town Bypass Project.
Nightworks will take place across Bathurst Street, Pitt Town Road, Cattai Road and Glebe Road on the following dates, weather permitting:
- Monday 1, Tuesday 2 and Thursday 4 December
- Monday 8, Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 December
- Monday 15, Tuesday 16 and Thursday 18 December
Crews will be on site between 6pm and 7am for each shift.
As part of the works, Glebe Road will be closed at Bathurst Street and Pitt Town Road overnight. Local residents will still be able to access their properties via a detour using Old Stock Route Road and Old Pitt Town Road. Glebe Road will reopen to all traffic at the end of each night shift and remain open during the day.
A 40km/h speed limit will be in place, supported by traffic controllers and signage. Motorists are urged to drive with caution and follow all directions from crews on site.
The ongoing works form part of the broader Pitt Town Bypass Project, which aims to improve travel times, reduce congestion through the village centre and enhance safety for road users.
