The opening weekend will also showcase rising Australian country music star Sara Berki, who will perform with her band and special guest William Alexander on Friday, May 1. The performance forms part of both the Official Opening Weekend and Great Southern Nights 2026, bringing nationally recognised talent to the Hawkesbury.
Comedy fans won’t miss out either, with final tickets now available for much-loved British comedian Ross Noble, who brings his Cranium of Curiosities tour to the Regent on April 25. Also recently announced is Michael Paynter, newly named lead in the John Farnham musical, who will perform his Great Australian Songbooks tour on April 24.
Additional shows already confirmed include the Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase Tour and The Robertson Brothers’ “Everly Brothers & Roy Orbison” Show, with more announcements expected in the coming weeks.
Regent Theatre Programming and Venue Consultant Brett Hlywa of Sound Advice Music said the opening line-up reflects a commitment to variety and community connection.
“Our aim is to curate a diverse program of live events that support both emerging and established artists, while connecting them with our local Hawkesbury, Penrith and Blue Mountains communities, as well as the growing audiences in Greater Western Sydney.”
Theatre owner Duncan MacKay said the reopening represents a significant milestone for the region.“We’ve put our heart and soul into bringing The Regent Theatre back to life for locals in the Hawkesbury region,” Mr MacKay said.
“Greater Western Sydney is one of the fastest growing urban populations in the country, and we’re reopening a much-loved venue for a community that is hungry for local, domestic and international touring entertainment. We can’t wait to welcome artists and fans.”
