Rains and minor flooding in May this year, saw this first time event postponed. Bigger and better in Spring, Hawkesbury locals are in for a tail-wagging treat with the upcoming Puppy’s & Paw’s Expo, a community event designed to celebrate the bond between people and their pets. And we all know how the Hawkesbury folk love their pets! The event will not only showcase stalls, competitions, and demonstrations, but also shine a spotlight on one of the region’s most passionate advocates for animals — Barking with Bianca.

For founder of Barking with Bianca, Bianca Santucci, the journey began with a simple love of animals. Growing up with pocket pets, she quickly learned the joy and comfort animals bring. But it wasn’t until she faced a difficult turning point in her career — leaving early childhood education after workplace harassment — that she discovered her true calling.

“I started volunteering at the RSPCA in Rouse Hill, and that’s where I found my happy place. I could be myself, surrounded by animals, and not be judged for who I am.”

From there, Barking with Bianca was born — a business created out of community need. Local families were searching for trusted dog trainers and sitters, and Bianca’s passion and care filled the gap.

Today, Barking with Bianca offers a wide range of service, with heart centred connection:

  • Dog training — obedience, behaviour, puppy training, assistance, and therapy work.
  • Doggie daycare — with hours of play, socialisation, and exercise.
  • Pet sitting and holiday care — in-home services that keep pets comfortable.
  • Pet visits — from pocket pets to livestock, ensuring all animals are cared for while owners are away.

What makes Bianca’s work unique is the personal touch. She takes time to meet each family, understand their pets, and even share photos to build trust.

“It’s about creating relationships,” she says. “I want owners to feel confident their pets are safe, loved, and happy. The dogs in my care are taken on outings and stay inside my home, ensuring they have the same care they would have with their owners.”

More than just pet care, Bianca sees her work as community building.

“Barking with Bianca supports the lives of families with their fur babies. It’s about education, wellbeing, and making a difference in the pet community.”

Her vision extends further: creating opportunities for neurodiverse adults to learn animal care skills and exploring the powerful link between pets and mental health.

“Animals never judge. They bring joy, safety, and growth to people’s lives. That’s where I want my business to grow.”

The Puppy’s & Paw’s Expo is an extension of this community spirit. Hosted by Bianca, the event will bring together pet lovers, local businesses, and families for a day of fun, education, and connection.

The Expo has received strong local support, with sponsors including:

  • Gold Sponsor: Lovies Test & Tag
  • Silver Sponsor: Bianca Griffiths
  • Bronze Sponsor: Hawkesbury Business Hub

When asked about her long-term dream, Bianca doesn’t hesitate:

“I’d love to create a space where people can connect, learn, and interact with animals — a sanctuary that rescues, educates, and builds community.”

For now, the Puppy’s & Paw’s Expo is the first step in that vision — bringing together the Hawkesbury community to celebrate the joy and wellbeing that animals bring.

Don’t miss it — Saturday 11th October at Richmond Oval from 9am – 2pm! Puppy’s & Paw’s Expo is set to be a paw-sitive experience for the whole family!
