Night works to bring temporary traffic changes across Pitt Town
Road users are being advised to plan ahead with temporary traffic changes set to roll out across Pitt Town next month as work continues on the Pitt Town Bypass Project.
Motorists travelling along Bathurst Street, Lagoon Road, Pitt Town Road, Glebe Road, Wellesley Street, Cattai Road, Buckingham Road and Old Pitt Town Road will be affected by upcoming works scheduled throughout March 2026.
Construction is planned for March 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 12, 16, 17, 19 and 23, weather permitting. If the work cannot be completed on those dates, crews will return on March 24, 26, 30 and 31, also weather permitting.
Work will take place from 6pm to 7am, Monday to Friday, and between 7am and 8pm on Saturdays.
During these times, motorists can expect lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h in work zones. Traffic control will be in place to assist drivers and maintain safety, with signage installed to direct motorists through the changed conditions.
Drivers are urged to slow down, remain alert and follow the directions of traffic controllers and signage while travelling through the area.
The Pitt Town Bypass Project is aimed at improving traffic flow and safety in and around the township, with works continuing in stages.
