The Grand Café Londonderry

A Family Recipe for Community and Great Food

Table of Contents

There’s a delicious new aroma wafting through the heart of Londonderry — and it’s coming from The Grand Café, a family-owned and operated gem bringing a taste of home-cooked goodness and continental flair to the village.

Located at Shop 2/355 Carrington Road, the café opened its doors in July 2025, taking over the much-loved former Zammit’s Café site. The new owner, Veerpal (“Vee”), and her family are no strangers to the food business. Since 2015, they’ve built a reputation for excellence through their successful franchises of The Cheesecake Shop in Ermington and Thornleigh, where their beautifully crafted cakes became a local favourite.

A Family Passion Baked into Every Bite

After years in Sydney’s busy suburbs, the family fell in love with Londonderry’s quiet village charm and strong community spirit. They saw the café as the perfect place to combine their passion for great food with a family-friendly work life.

At The Grand Café, you’ll find all your café favourites hearty breakfasts, light lunches, and excellent coffee alongside something special: authentic Indian cuisine prepared by Vee’s husband, whose signature Butter Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh have already won over local taste buds.

But it doesn’t stop there. Vee and her sister Inder are the creative duo behind the café’s irresistible cakes and sweets — from elegant wedding cakes and birthday creations to custom cupcakes in any colour or design you can dream up. Each treat is baked with love, care, and a touch of artistry that’s quickly earning rave reviews.

“The community has been amazing,” Vee says with a smile. “Everyone’s been so welcoming from local families to the staff at the primary school and preschool. We’re so grateful for their support and love seeing familiar faces come back again and again.”

The Grand Café doesn’t just serve locals they deliver to them too! Free home delivery is available in and around Londonderry, Agnes Banks, Hobartville, and Richmond, making it even easier to enjoy their mouth-watering menu from home.

Whether you’re after a tradie’s breakfast, a freshly brewed coffee, or a slice of decadent cake, The Grand Café Londonderry is worth the stop.
