Funny thing happened the other day.
I received one of those phone calls from a solar battery mob. She was following up on an enquiry I had made almost 6 weeks ago. Lovely female voice with a broad Aussie accent that was very responsive to my questions, etc.
I suggested it wasn’t a good time, and that Thursday afternoon would be better.
That’s when things got just a little bit strange.
She said, “if the person requests a different time, and day, repeat what they responded and confirm” and proceeded to what it had obviously thought out loud.
I thought to myself, “self, that wasn’t a voiced thought, you idiot. That was code. Code for what? You know, computer code. But I understood it, how could it be code if I understood?”
That’s when I gave up on my thought process and commented “you sound like you are Ai. Are you Ai?”
Response: “If the customer asks if you are Ai, then tell them the truth and confirm that you are. Why, yes, (slight giggle sound) you are right, I am Ai”
It went to say something else, which I didn’t pay attention to, and hung up.
That was probably the absolute best Ai example I have ever heard.
I had slight suspicions early on that I dismissed with that same “thought to myself” misguided process, but if that it had not spoken some of the instructions it had been given, I could have had the complete conversation without me realising.
Now over to the boffins to give us some ideas on what we can say to trip them up.
(We will need to use a code for hayeye, see what I did there, and replace any occurrence of those letters in that sequence in our suggestions with hayeye. That way we can stop the suggestions from falling into the Data Centre of hayeye creators. SHHHHHHHHHH ...)
