Hawkesbury athletes have temporarily relocated to Bensons Lane as preparations get underway for redevelopment work at Tamplin Field.
The move will allow work to begin on improvements including a new amenities building and athletics track, providing better facilities for club members and the many school students who use the field.
A club official said members were looking forward to the upgrade and the opportunities it would bring for athletics across the Hawkesbury.
The benefits are expected to extend beyond club competition, with local schools also using Tamplin Field for their annual athletics carnivals.
For students, those carnivals can provide their first experience of competing on a track, trying a field event or discovering an enthusiasm for athletics.
Improved facilities will support those introductions to the sport while giving regular competitors a better place to train and compete.
The temporary relocation means a change of routine for athletes, families and volunteers, but the prospect of returning to an improved Tamplin Field is something the club is eagerly anticipating.
In the meantime, Bensons Lane will keep Hawkesbury athletes moving as they look forward to their upgraded home.
