Bilpin’s Jane MacKinnon has once again proven she’s a cut above the rest, taking out the coveted Most Successful Exhibitor ribbon in floristry at this year’s Hawkesbury Show, her third consecutive win.

The Bilpin Buds founder said she was still coming to terms with the achievement after a strong field of entries across the pavilion.

“Still in a bit of disbelief, third year of entering the Hawkesbury Show and third year of coming home with the Most Successful Exhibitor ribbon in floristry,” she shared on the Bilpin Buds Facebook page.

MacKinnon has spent recent years honing her craft, studying floristry at TAFE while steadily building her local flower business in Bilpin. Her dedication was evident in a competition that saw increased exhibitor numbers this year, with floristry attracting a particularly high standard of entries.

Despite the competitive field, MacKinnon’s work stood out, with judges recognising both her technical skill and creative flair.

She paid special tribute to the Anzac-themed category, describing it as one of the most meaningful sections of the competition.

“The Anzac category was incredibly moving,” she wrote, reflecting on the emotional significance of the displays.

MacKinnon also acknowledged the role her studies have played in her success, saying the show provided an opportunity to put her training into practice.

Her continued dominance in the floristry section highlights both her growing reputation and the strength of local talent showcased each year at the Hawkesbury Show.
