Olivia Myers joins the Hawkesbury Gazette as our Social Media Journalist, bringing fresh perspective, digital fluency, and a passion for storytelling that speaks to a new generation of readers.

Born and raised in the Hawkesbury, Olivia is proud to represent the place she calls home. As the youngest member of the Gazette team and a voice of Gen Z, she brings energy, curiosity, and a strong commitment to reshaping the social narrative so that young people are not only seen but heard.

Olivia’s role bridges the gap between tradition and tomorrow carrying forward the best of our past while making space for new stories, diverse voices, and emerging local talent. We’re excited to welcome her as part of our multi-generational newsroom and look forward to the stories she’ll share and the community conversations she’ll spark.

Sally Dulson – Communications Manager, Hawkesbury Gazette

Sally Dulson brings creativity, warmth, and a global perspective to her role as Communications Manager at the Hawkesbury Gazette.

Born and educated in the Hawkesbury, Sally spent several years travelling and working internationally in the arts sector before returning home to share her talents with the local community. With a strong background in performance and media, she honed her skills through her work with the Starlight Foundation and continues to delight children and families as a professional arts entertainer.

At the Gazette, Sally combines her creative flair with communication expertise to enhance community engagement and amplify local storytelling. As a millennial navigating the balance of work, business, and family life, she brings an authentic and relatable voice to the newsroom.

 Sally’s energy and perspective are vital as the Gazette continues to grow and evolve—reflecting the aspirations, challenges, and stories of a modern Hawkesbury.

 

Jeff Ferrara – Digital Content Producer, Hawkesbury Gazette

Jeff Ferrara is the Hawkesbury Gazette’s Digital Content Producer, combining deep local knowledge with a forward-thinking approach to media and storytelling.

Born and educated in the Hawkesbury, Jeff built his career in the region through his work in the family’s successful technology business, developing a strong foundation in digital innovation and strategic communication. Now raising a young family of his own in the area, he remains deeply committed to preserving the values and lifestyle that shaped his upbringing—while helping guide the region toward a thriving, connected future.

An analytical and thoughtful observer of social issues, Jeff brings both heart and foresight to the newsroom. He has a passion for visual storytelling and is focused on using every tool available—from video and photography to emerging digital platforms—to connect the Gazette with a wider, more diverse audience.

Through his work, Jeff ensures that our stories don’t just inform—they resonate with images.

 

Lichell Maris – Advertising Sales Representative, Hawkesbury Gazette

Lichell Maris is a lifelong resident of the Hawkesbury region, bringing deep local knowledge and decades of experience to her role as Advertising Sales Representative for the Hawkesbury Gazette.

Lichell returns to newspaper sales with a rich background, having worked with both local and regional publications across Western Sydney. She then went on to successfully run her own fire protection business, gaining valuable, hands-on insight into the day-to-day realities of operating a local enterprise.

Her unique blend of business acumen, sales expertise, and genuine connection to the community gives her a distinct advantage when it comes to helping Hawkesbury businesses grow and succeed. With a clear understanding of what sells—and how to sell it—Lichell is a vital part of our team as we continue building a vibrant and sustainable local media platform.

Brady Jones – Junior Journalist, Hawkesbury Gazette

Brady Jones is passionate about engaging the local community and exploring new ways to tell stories through creative writing and thoughtful journalism.Currently completing an internship with the Gazette, Brady sees this opportunity as a valuable learning experience—sharpening skills in research, interviewing, and storytelling while gaining real-world insight into the power of local news.

Educated, living and working in the Hawkesbury, Brady brings a local perspective to regional history, lifestyle, arts and culture. At university, she currently studies a double bachelor, focused on writing and publishing combined with creative intelligence and innovation. Driven by curiosity, she aims to uncover the stories that matter most to the Hawkesbury region, and to tell them with accuracy, integrity, and heart.

Brady delivers a youthful perspective to the team and is excited to grow within this dynamic publication.

Is an Australian contemporary artist, curator, and arts advocate based at Mt Tomah. Dr. Gruner has developed an international reputation for his work in non-objective and concrete art, as well as for his leadership in artist-run initiatives and interdisciplinary cultural projects. He writes for the Hawkesbury Gazette on matters relating to local art and culture. 

Sarah Langston- Hawkesbury Gazette Disability Correspondent

 Sarah Langston is a Disabled woman, mother of a Disabled child, law student, journalist, disability rights advocate, and strong unionist based in the Blue Mountains. She is co-founder of the Australian Neurodivergent Parents Association and the Nobody Worse Off Coalition, leading national campaigns on disability policy reform that centre lived experience, grassroots organising, and community strength.With a background in communications, public policy, and regulatory advocacy, Sarah’s work appears in media and parliamentary submissions. She has a strong connection to grassroots movements and a deep belief in democracy, people power, and building resilient communities. As the Hawkesbury Gazette’s Disability Correspondent, Sarah brings informed, evidence-driven coverage of disability issues shaping our local and national landscape.
