Families with young children are being invited to join a morning of play, connection and community at Playtime in the Park: Celebrating Harmony Day, to be held in Richmond later this month.

The free community event will take place on Wednesday, 18 March from 9.30am to 11.30am at Richmond Park on Windsor Street, offering families the chance to enjoy a relaxed outdoor gathering while children take part in a range of creative play activities.

Organised by the Child, Youth & Family Interagency, the event celebrates Harmony Day by bringing together families, local services and community members in a welcoming environment.

A Morning of Play and Connection

Children attending the event will be able to explore a variety of hands-on activities, including sensory play, crafts, puzzles, books and music.

The outdoor park setting allows young children to learn and play while engaging with others in a safe and supportive space.

Parents and carers will also have the opportunity to connect with other families and speak with local community services, helping them learn about programs and support available in the Hawkesbury.

Celebrating Community Diversity

Harmony Day events are held across Australia to celebrate the country’s cultural diversity and promote inclusiveness and belonging.

Organisers say the Richmond Park gathering aims to reflect those values by creating a space where families from all backgrounds can come together and enjoy shared activities.

Everyone Welcome

The event is free and open to all families, with no bookings required.

Families are encouraged to drop in during the morning, enjoy the activities and connect with others in the community.
