Five Hawkesbury councillors have been recognised for a combined 65 years of service to local government, receiving Local Government NSW Service Awards at Council’s September 8 meeting.
Councillor Jill Reardon received an award acknowledging 25 years of service, while councillors Sarah McMahon, Amanda Kotlash and Danielle Wheeler, and Deputy Mayor Nathan Zamprogno, were each recognised for 10 years.
Each recipient received a certificate, trophy and gift on behalf of Local Government NSW.
Announcing the awards, Hawkesbury City Council general manager Will Barton acknowledged the councillors’ longstanding connection to the community.
“As our elected representatives, you have shown in your daily actions serving on Council, how much this area and its people mean to you,” Mr Barton said.
“And that is an achievement worthy of celebration.”
The presentations recognised the five councillors’ years of service as elected representatives of the Hawkesbury community.
