There is a well worn trail between the Hawkesbury and Bowraville, travelled in both directions by people whose lives connect the two communities. It is that connection that brings this invitation to Gazette readers: Bowra is welcoming people home.

Back To Bowra 2026 will take place in High Street, Bowraville, on Saturday, November 14, from 10am to 4pm, bringing together locals, former residents, families and visitors for a day of entertainment and reconnecting.

Under the theme “Come Home to the Capital”, organisers are celebrating Bowra as the heart of its valley, a place where friendships were formed, families were raised and stories began.

For Hawkesbury residents with ties to the town, the event offers a reason to make the return journey, catch up with old friends and revisit familiar places.

The program will include local markets, food, live entertainment, children’s activities and community displays.

Organisers say the celebration is open to everyone, whether they have lived in Bowraville for generations, moved away many years ago or are visiting for the first time.

Alongside the opportunity to renew connections, the day will showcase local businesses and the community that continues to shape the town.

“Because every great valley has a heart… and ours has always been Bowra,” the organising committee said.

The advertised deadline for stallholder expressions of interest was September 30. Food vendors, market stallholders, activity providers and entertainers who still wish to participate should contact the committee to ask whether places remain available.
