The newly established RIV Team Space at 22 Bosworth Street is quickly becoming a hub for community connection, with a special hands-on pottery workshop set to bring young women together these school holidays.
On Tuesday, April 14, the Richmond space will transform into a temporary ceramic studio, hosting an afternoon of creativity in partnership with Richmond Community Services Inc.
Running from 2pm to 5pm, the session invites local young women aged 14 to 18 to explore tactile art, working with raw clay to mould and shape their own creations—each participant taking home a handmade piece as a lasting memento.
🎨 Expert guidance in a supportive space
Leading the workshop is Susie from the House of Bobbie an experiencand approachable facilitator known for helping beginners feel comfortable and creative from the outset.
Staff from Richmond Community Services and the RIV Team will also be on hand throughout the afternoon, providing guidance and support in what organisers describe as a relaxed and inclusive environment.

Building connection through creativity
The workshop builds on previous art therapy sessions delivered with local young women and students from Richmond High School, where feedback highlighted a strong interest in more creative, hands-on activities.
Organisers say the goal is to create a consistent and welcoming space where young people can connect, express themselves and build confidence.
“It’s all about giving young people a space to express themselves,” said Sonya Parker of the RIV Project.
With Youth Week running across NSW from April 16 to 26, the pottery session also serves as a lead-in to the Hawkesbury Youth Fest, taking place on April 17 at Richmond Park.
🧭 A growing community hub
The RIV Team Space is emerging as more than just a venue, with plans to host regular activities and provide a reliable base for youth engagement in Richmond.
By offering a dedicated local space, the initiative aims to strengthen connections between young people, community organisations and mentors—keeping opportunities close to home in the Hawkesbury.
As the program expands, organisers hope the Bosworth Street site will become a go-to destination for creativity, support and community connection.
