Windsor could become an easier and more affordable place to stage events, with residents and organisers invited to help shape improvements funded by a $500,000 NSW Government grant.

Hawkesbury City Council has received the funding through the Permit/Plug/Play Program to make selected spaces in Windsor better equipped for events and community activities.

Council is seeking ideas from local businesses, community organisations, event organisers, creatives and people who attend activities in the town.

The aim is to identify practical changes that would reduce the logistical challenges of putting on an event, giving organisers more time to focus on the experience they want to create.

The funding will support infrastructure and practical arrangements to make selected locations more event-ready.

For community groups and businesses, the consultation offers an opportunity to explain what makes organising an event difficult and what would help. Residents can also contribute ideas about how Windsor’s spaces could better support activities they would like to attend.

Council says feedback will help it understand what would make a meaningful difference to those who organise, participate in and attend events.

The announcement does not specify which spaces will be improved or the infrastructure to be installed.
