Kurrajong Bilpin Little Athletics celebrate strong State Championship results

Table of Contents

Young athletes from Kurrajong Bilpin Little Athletics Centre (KBLAC) have delivered a series of impressive performances at the recent NSW Little Athletics Championships 2026, with personal bests and near-podium finishes highlighting a successful campaign.

Competing at Homebush on March 21–22, KBLAC athletes stood out particularly in race walking events, where several competitors achieved significant personal bests.

Laura Head led the way with an outstanding fourth-place finish in the 1100m walk, narrowly missing a medal by just one second while recording a major personal best. Peyton Firkins and Dakota Adlington also impressed, both achieving big PB performances, while Jett Maher added to the club’s strong showing in the discipline.

In the field events, Ashton Graham delivered a solid performance in discus, finishing ninth and just four metres shy of a podium position in a highly competitive field. Lucy Dixon recorded a strong result in shot put, while Mason Georgiadis achieved a personal best in the 400m.

There were also determined efforts across the track, including Summer Murphy, who showed resilience to finish her hurdles race after a fall, and Isaac Jones, who competed across a demanding multi-event program, narrowly missing finals in the triple jump.

KBLAC officials praised the athletes’ commitment and sportsmanship, noting the team’s depth and determination across both track and field events.

Off the track, the club is continuing to build for the future, launching its 2026 Mega Raffle to support young athletes and ongoing programs. Funds raised will help ensure local children can continue to participate in athletics and develop their skills.

The raffle, which includes major prizes such as signed memorabilia and a family getaway, is now open online, with tickets also available at upcoming competition nights.
