Wil's involvement with the Thrive Festival on 24 October will see him take on two roles.
As a musician, he will perform live, bringing his distinctive country-rock-indie style to the festival and adding to the atmosphere of a day centred around community, wellbeing and connection.
As a sound provider, Wil will also supply the audio equipment and production needed to support the festival.
It is a role that draws on a different side of his experience.
While audiences see the musicians and performers on stage, much of what makes a live event work happens behind the scenes. Microphones, speakers, mixing and sound levels all need to work together to ensure that performers can be heard and the audience can enjoy the experience.
For Wil, combining the two roles makes perfect sense.
“Music has always been about connection for me,” he says. “Being able to perform while also helping provide the sound for an event that brings people together is something I really enjoy.”
Wil's career continues to develop through live performances, original songwriting and his commitment to building a genuine connection with audiences.
His approach is refreshingly independent. Rather than trying to fit neatly into one genre, he allows his influences to collide — country storytelling, rock energy and indie sensibility — creating a sound that is distinctly his own.
And while the road ahead for most musicians is uncertain, Wil remains committed to the dream. And Wil’s dream doesn’t just include music but also his other hidden talents - film and photography. This young man is versatile in his crafts that are often connected to his love of music.
The message behind Wil's song ‘Keep Getting Fooled’ could easily be interpreted as a reflection of that journey. There are moments when doubt creeps in, when the practical voice says to choose the safe option, and when pursuing a creative dream can seem unrealistic.

For Wil Linder, the answer is to keep writing, keep performing and keep getting back on stage. Wil recently played to a sold out crowd at the Richmond Regent Theatre, with talented younger sister Laney Linder as his support act.
On Saturday, 24 October 2026, that stage will be at Kurrajong's Thrive Festival, where local audiences will have the opportunity to experience Wil's music while also benefiting from the sound production he provides for the event.
