For Hawkesbury music lovers, Thrive Festival 2026 is set to showcase local talent, creativity and community — and among those helping bring the festival experience to life is talented musician, producer and sound engineer Dave Bleus.
Some locals may already know Dave for his music, while others will know him for the work he does behind the scenes. His career spans more than two decades and has taken him from Sydney's progressive rock scene to recording studios, major live performances and his own professional recording studio in South Windsor.
Dave is the owner of Studio Bleus, located at Unit 3, 2 Anderson Place, South Windsor.
His musical journey began in the early 2000s, when he emerged from Sydney's progressive rock scene. Over the years, he developed his skills as a guitarist, singer, producer and sound engineer, eventually establishing his own studio.
Studio Bleus has become a place where emerging Australian musicians can develop their sound, alongside more established acts. Dave's work has included acclaimed Australian rock names such as Rose Tattoo and The Angels.
He is equally at home behind a mixing desk at a live event, regularly working front-of-house for performers including The Angels, Rose Carleo, The Hype Boys and The Rocking Byrds.
For festival audiences, the quality of the sound can make or break a performance. While the crowd sees the musicians on stage, it is the sound engineer working behind the scenes who helps ensure every vocal, guitar riff and drumbeat reaches the audience as it should.
As a musician, Dave has performed with a diverse range of bands and artists, including Self Is A Seed, Superb Lyrebird, Coverpalooza, Matt Jones Band, Ezekiel Ox & The Evidence, Mammal, Quadzilla, Killing Flaw, Commander Arkipov and The Rentagades.
That combination of experience — as a performer, producer and engineer — has earned Dave a reputation for versatility and technical excellence, but perhaps most importantly, a genuine passion for Australian music.
It is that passion that makes his involvement in Thrive Festival 2026 particularly fitting.
The festival provides an opportunity to celebrate the people, creativity and community that make the Hawkesbury unique, while showcasing the talent that exists right on the region's doorstep.
And Dave's contribution is a reminder that a successful festival is about much more than the performers in the spotlight. It is also about the people working behind the scenes to create an experience the audience will remember.
For those wanting to discover more about the Hawkesbury's musical talent, Thrive Festival 2026 offers the perfect opportunity — and altruist Dave Bleus is one of the local creatives helping ensure the region's community gets the music it deserves.
