More than 70 veterans, family members and supporters gathered at Windsor Golf Club on Friday 4 September for a golf day hosted by Windsor RSL.
The event gave local veterans and their families a chance to spend time together, share stories and recognise the service of those who have served.
Windsor RSL community engagement manager Yasmine Chalmers said the day was about connection as much as golf.
“Giving back to our veterans and their families is at the heart of who we are,” she said. “This golf day was about so much more than a round of golf. It was about connection, camaraderie, and making sure our veterans know their community stands behind them.”
Windsor Golf Club partnered with the RSL to host the event. Its general manager, Steven Parkes, said the club was pleased to welcome veterans and their families to the course.
“Seeing more than 70 veterans and their families out on the green, enjoying the day together, is exactly what community is about,” he said.
Windsor RSL said the golf day was part of its broader program of support for veterans, their families and the Hawkesbury community. The RSL sub-branch continues to provide veterans and families with advocacy, wellbeing support, hospital visits and funeral services.
