The Hawkesbury Cricket Club has capped off a remarkable season, securing the Second Division premiership in the Sydney Classic competition and signalling a bold step forward for the 2026/27 season.
In a year defined by consistency, teamwork, and determination, the club’s success has been driven by a strong core of experienced players and emerging talent. The premiership win not only cements their standing as a dominant force in the competition but also paves the way for a well-earned promotion to First Division next season.
Club representative Troy Myers said the team is ready to embrace the challenge.
“We’re looking forward to competing in the First Division in the 2026/27 season,” Myers said. “This group has worked hard all year and deserves the opportunity to test themselves at the next level.”
Adding to the club’s celebrations, rising talent Andrew Morgan has been selected in the elite over 55's NSW Development Squad, recognising his strong performances and potential as a player competing above his grade.
“It’s a fantastic achievement for Andrew and a reflection of the strength of our club,” Myers said. “We’re proud to see local players getting these opportunities.”
The premiership-winning squad features a committed and experienced lineup, including Scott Tuckerman, Andrew Morgan, Tony Phillips, Shane Griffin, Scott Boyd, Brett Schlyder, Michael Falzon, Bruce Earl, Douglas McIntyre, David Bennett, Wayne Holt, Hugh McKay, Richard James, John Devocht, Rob Kropman, Donu Levy, Troy Myers and John Bennett each playing a key role in the club’s success throughout the season.
Their combined efforts have helped build not just a winning team, but a culture of resilience and camaraderie that is now setting the benchmark for the club’s future.
As the Hawkesbury Cricket Club prepares to step up into First Division, the message is clear: this is a team on the rise, backed by local pride and a determination to compete with the best.
For the Hawkesbury sporting community, it’s another reminder that success is being built from the ground up, one season, one team, and one opportunity at a time.
