Motorists in Marsden Park are being urged to plan ahead, with extended nighttime traffic changes now in place along Hollinsworth Road as essential roadworks continue.
Transport for NSW has confirmed that works along Hollinsworth Road, between Richmond Road and Chifley Glade, will continue through to Thursday, 23 April 2026. The project is being carried out across multiple nights each week, typically from Sunday night through to Friday morning, weather permitting. No work will take place on public holidays.
To safely complete the upgrades, a combination of lane closures, full road closures, reduced speed limits and detours will be implemented during work hours.
Between 8pm and 10pm, traffic will be managed under a single-lane closure arrangement. From 10pm through to 5am, Hollinsworth Road will be fully closed to traffic, requiring motorists to follow clearly marked detours.
Drivers heading southbound on Richmond Road will be redirected via Hawthorne Avenue and Harris Avenue, adding around one kilometre to their journey. Northbound motorists will instead be diverted via Langford Drive and Chifley Glade, slightly reducing travel distance.
For those travelling westbound on Townson Road, detours will run via Richmond Road, Langford Drive and Chifley Glade, adding approximately 1.5 kilometres. Eastbound traffic on Hollinsworth Road will be diverted via Chifley Glade and Langford Drive, with an additional 500 metres expected.
Importantly, bus services will continue to operate without disruption, and access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Traffic controllers and signage will be in place to guide motorists safely through the area. Drivers are reminded to follow directions, adhere to reduced speed limits, and allow extra travel time.
Transport for NSW has thanked the community for its patience as these works are carried out to support the rapidly growing Marsden Park area and improve long-term road safety.
